About the Speaker

Adele Ferguson AM

Adele Ferguson is an award-winning investigative journalist at ABC's Four Corners and 7.30. She previously worked as a columnist for The Age, The Sydney Morning Herald and the Australian Financial Review.

Her investigations have triggered royal commissions, parliamentary inquiries and landmark regulatory reforms — including the Banking Royal Commission, the 7-Eleven wage fraud scandal, and the childcare investigation that won the 2025 Gold Walkley.

In 2019, Adele was awarded a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) for significant service to the print and broadcast media. She holds an Honorary Doctorate from the University of Adelaide and is a former President of the Melbourne Press Club.
